Stewardship Tree

Stewardship Tree ColorThe Stewardship Tree

Our parish ministries often have a need for some short-term assistance on specific projects, but find it difficult to find people to help. The Stewardship Tree gives people an opportunity to assist one or more of our parish ministries with a single activity. It is a way to take a “test drive” with a ministry. If you wondered what a particular ministry is like, but did not feel you could commit for a significant length of time, the Stewardship Tree lets you dip your toe into the water.

The Stewardship Council is pleased to announce the return of the Stewardship Tree in the Narthex of the Church during the Lent and Advent seasons. Its leaves will contain a variety of brief, specific service opportunities. When present, please remember to take this opportunity to reach out and grow in your faith, meet new people and have new experiences. Come and take a look at our Stewardship Tree after masses during these time periods. Members of the Stewardship Council will be there to answer any questions.

The Lenten Stewardship Tree Has Returned Bigger and Better! March 2014

Starting on the first Sunday of Lent; The Stewardship Giving Tree will be available in the Narthex. This year; in addition to the one-time ministry/volunteer opportunities provided by our parish-based ministry groups; we will be expanding it to include one-time ministry/volunteer opportunities submitted by our parishioners in need.

Helping out is easy. Select the decoration for the task you want to complete and contact the person/ministry listed.  Opportunities might include making a meal for SHIP; cleaning out a gutter; washing the Altar Server Albs; planting flowers; stuffing bulletins or picking up sticks from a backyard. All the opportunities are one-time commitments that can be completed by an individual or a family. The timeframe to complete the task should be approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours. Take a moment to deepen your connection to our parish family and open you heart even further to the merciful love of Christ by taking home a decoration today!

If you are a parishioner or a ministry with a one-time need; please submit your request for review to Deacon Gerry Sims at the parish office at x805. Once your information has been added to the tree; you will be notified by whoever has chosen to complete your request.
